ARCHITECTURE
Maciej Franta
Maciej Franta is one of the most renowned architects of the younger generation in Poland, a graduate and ambassador of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology. He also studied at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and gained professional experience at Gensler offices in New York and Dublin. Since 2010, he has led Franta Group Architects, an award-winning studio with a team of over 20 architects.
In 2022, he was included on the 40 Under 40 list and received the title of Architect of the Year. A co-creator of a secondary-school architecture programme in Chorzów, he also serves as a jury member and speaker.

Bracka Vita is more than just buildings—it’s a new part of the city, complete with squares, avenues, services, and safe pedestrian zones.
Residents will have access to, among other amenities, two courtyards located on the second-floor level, forming a unique shared space, with playgrounds and recreational facilities such as a sensory garden, gym, and yoga zone.
The ground floor includes 18 retail and service units, making everyday errands easy to handle during a simple walk.

The heritage of the site is reflected in the estate’s architecture. The form and details of the buildings engage in a dialogue with the area’s industrial past. Columns on the façades are a nod to Baildon Steelworks.
The shared spaces also feature numerous references to the site’s industrial history, with historical pathways, information plaques and signs highlighting the area’s former function.
Original industrial lamps from the steelworks are being preserved and restored to their former glory, while reclaimed brick is given a new lease of life as a decorative feature within the buildings.
